At SBS we pride ourselves in the active role we take in our community and beyond. There are often times we the school community as a whole will take part in recognizing actions in our world such as Orange Shirt Day and the Terry Fox run to name a few. In addition, our students are encouraged to take the initiative to show agency and action and can submit proposals for actions that they want to do to support the community and world. These actions are then supported by staff, but led and organized by the students themselves. Students are also encouraged to share their cultural celebrations with the school during assemblies and in class. These actions bring the school community together, and in alignment with the IB, allows our students to have the opportunity to be active and contributing members of society both locally and globally.
