Grade Four at SBS is another moment in a students’ journey when a remarkable transition occurs. The entry into the Senior School is an exciting one and students can now begin to anticipate and prepare for new leadership roles, the ability to audition for the school musical, and their final Grade 6 year and graduation from SBS.
For students in Grade Four the ability to take greater ownership over their self-management and organizational skills is a key component in preparing them for the coming years. In addition, our staff strive to foster agency in the students, allowing them to make decisions, have a voice, and be responsible for their learning. Students look forward to joining the Senior recess time with the older children and beginning to be learning buddies with the younger grades. Grade Four sets the stage for growing confidence, independence and leadership in the Senior School.
