The SBS Cross Country team competed in two meets during their season. Our runners were very successful and six students placed in the top ten against 30 other schools. What a successful season!!

The Grade 5 and 6 students ventured off to camp for three days and two nights. They participated in rock climbing, archery, high ropes, low ropes, fire building, canoeing and orientation. It was a great way for the students to bond with each other through cooperative games and learn leadership skills.

Today our students discussed the importance of Orange Shirt Day and why “Every Child Matters.” They will reflect on Canada’s history, in an age-appropriate way. The Grade 6 house heads led the Kindie Play Day and did a spectacular job! The theme this year was definitely “Obstacle Course” as there were so many tracks and courses for the children to try! These events are so important for our students to put their leadership skills to the test.

We had the honour of Mrs Davy presenting the history of SBS to all of the students and staff. We heard about all of the changes at Sunnybrook and heard about our wonderful founder, Mrs Hoff. Thank you to all of the parents who joined us on the playground for a fantastic community BBQ.

Arriving in style!! All students arrived this morning eager and ready for the new school year! Wishing all the students, staff and parents a wonderful safe school year!

Our Grade 6 students have graduated and they are all moving on to their top choice schools in the fall. We wish them all the success next year as they begin the next chapter in their lives. It has been a pleasure having them at SBS and they will all be missed!
