The average Canadian lives off of $75 worth of groceries a week. The Grade 5 students took on this challenge and headed to Loblaws to see if they could budget for the week. Many students were over budget and had to either cut items off or justify where the extra money is coming from. Those who are under budget had to allocate the money to either RRSP or savings. At the end of the field trip, the class donated $43 to the Food Bank. A great financial literacy activity!
