Sunnybrook celebrated Nowruz early this year – students presented in assembly and they had a chance to jump over “fire” to ask for health and luck for the new year!
Ukrainian Relief
Two Grade 5 students initiated an action to assist Ukrainian Families who have been displaced. They sold hot chocolate and all proceeds were donated to the Canadian Red Cross. This was a wonderful action!
Student Led Conferences
Students shared their learning with their parents at Student Led Conferences. Parents were able to come into the classroom and hear from their children about what they are learning in language, math, inquiry, music and French. It was a wonderful experience for both the parents and children.
Right to Play
Sunnybrook students wore jerseys to school and donated to the Right to Play. We support all children having the right to play sports in their communities. Together we raised $260 for this amazing organization.
Pink Shirt Day
Sunnybrook wears Pink Shirts to support anti- bullying. Bullying was discussed in the classrooms and Kindergarten children made “Kindness is Cool” Cards. Be Cool…..wear Pink!!
Happy Lunar New Year
Today we celebrated Lunar New Year – the year of the TIGER! A grade 6 student shared a power point in assembly about the traditions and parents came into the classes as well. Many children wore traditional clothing and shared lucky red envelopes with their classmates.
